In America The early performances of Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely be in the child prodigy category. As a person with Irish roots, surrounded as her by talented parents and family members, this came naturally. Maureen entered the safe haven of her parents on August 17 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita Lilburn fitzSimons' mother was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake in "The Shamrock Rovers," an eminent Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons is the second child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed the wonderful family. Maureen was a natural athlete and loved playing sporting games. The combination of this passion and her gift in performing was astonishing. Her winning of almost all Feis prizes for her own country's drama and theatre performances proved this. In her 14th year, she joined an organization called the Abbey Theater to follow her goal of studying operatic and classical vocals.
