Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father taught school while her mother was a homemaker. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and would often perform puppet shows in front of children in her area. She won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was then contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to join the business of show production. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964 when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. The same year, she was featured in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty-Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected from a field of 1500 children who had auditioned to be the youngest of three daughters towheaded in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show lasted for five years. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick was close to losing her virginity on set of the series during its fifth season to Barry Williams. He was 19. She was just 16. It could have been, she says. But, the time for our relationship was not right.
