Shay Mitchell has been a Canadian model, actress, and business owner for over ten years. Shay Mitchell is most well-known for her character Emily Fields in the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. Shay Lo was the name given to a Jennifer Lopez Mitchell admirer by her friends. When she was a young girl she was captivated by her passion for performing arts. She spoke to her parents about the possibility of pursuing the field of acting. After exceling in dance and modeling, she wanted to try her hand at acting and began acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell started her acting career by appearing in a series of television commercials. After receiving guest roles and some small roles in TV, she received her first big break in Pretty Little Liars when cast in the role of Emily Fields. Both critics and viewers praised Mitchell's acting abilities. She then went on to make a mark on the big screen by starring in films like Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace. She wrote an adult novel titled Bliss together with Michaela Blaney.
